Raised on our 4th-generation ranch and hand-prepared by the Best of the Best Butcher Shop in Billings, this high-quality suet is pre-ground to ensure a much quicker, more efficient rendering process for your tallow.

High Yield: Using the wet rendering method, you can expect to produce approximately 18 to 22 pounds of pure, snowy-white rendered tallow.

Wagon Cook Recipe: Wet Rendering with Sea Salt
“The secret to odorless, white tallow for skincare is the sea salt—it draws out the impurities!”
Combine: Place ground suet into a slow cooker or heavy pot. Add 4 cups of water and 1 tsp of sea salt per pound of suet.
Heat Slowly: Set to "Low." Melt for 1–3 hours. Do not let it boil!
Strain: Pour through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a heat-safe bowl.
Separate: Refrigerate overnight. The tallow will harden into a white cake on top.
Clean: Lift the tallow cake off, scrape the bottom, and rinse under cold water. Melt again to pour into final storage jars.
